City Clerk/Public Information Officer

The City Clerk provides administrative support for the City Manager, Mayor, Board of Commissioners, Planning Board, and Board of Adjustment, while also serving as the Public Information Officer (PIO) to keep citizens informed on programs, projects, special announcements, and general city business. Among the oldest public servant positions in government history, the clerk is sworn in as a public official whose principal duties include keeping records for the city. The clerk is responsible for recording and maintaining all official actions, meetings, and records; and as the PIO, serves as an advocate for information to citizens by working closely with city departments to assist and develop communication strategies and ensuring information reaches the largest local audience possible.

Barbara Rouse has served as City Clerk and Public Information Officer since February 7, 2022.

Creedmoor Parks and Recreation is kicking off First Fridays in Creedmoor with a PINK Tailgate party on Friday October 1, from 5-8 p.m. at the Creedmoor Community Center. Join your neighbors with an evening full of food, fun & entertainment.

Come dressed in PINK attire to celebrate the kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and then meet us in the Willow Oak Room at 7pm to watch the South Granville Vikings Homecoming Football Game on the big screen.

Staff from the Community Development office will also be on hand to talk about the development of the Creedmoor 2040 Comprehensive Plan along with staff from Stewart Inc., the company assisting with developing the plan. Come voice your ideas about where you think Creedmoor is headed.

Southern Snow Company and Jay Boys Hot Dogs will be on site with delicious food and cold treats available for purchase starting at 5:00 p.m. although no food or beverage are not allowed inside the building. Outside seating will be available.

Entertainment scheduled for the evening includes a marshmallow roast by the campfire, open gym for attendees and music provided by Creedmoor’s own “DJ Rich”. NOTE: Masks will be required in the facility.
