Every summer, families and children are always eager to see the night sky light up with Fireworks!  The City of Creedmoor, Town of Butner, Granville County Government, City of Oxford and the Town of Stem have partnered to host a Fireworks Display in southern Granville County!

The 2024 event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 at Lake Holt, located at 1100 Lake Holt Road off Old Highway 75 in Butner. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m.  Parking and security will be organized by officers of the Creedmoor Police Dept, Butner Public Safety, the Oxford Police Dept., the Granville County Sheriff’s Dept., Creedmoor Fire Dept., Stem Fire Dept. and the Junior Volunteer Fire Dept.  Everyone who wants to attend must be through the gates by 8:45pm, as there will be no admittance allowed after that time.  The fireworks show will begin once it gets dark (approximately 9:00pm).

A live D.J. will be creating the atmosphere and engaging the crowd throughout the evening.  Several local food trucks will be on site offering concessions, cold treats, and beverages. Alcoholic beverages will NOT be allowed. Citizens are encouraged to dress in their most patriotic outfit, bring a lawn chair, blanket, bug spray and a flashlight. Due to the loud nature of fireworks, event organizers ask that all pets be left at home. Plan to sit back, relax and enjoy the celebration!

Event organizers enjoy planning the Annual July Celebration and encourage residents, friends, and families to come join the fun! While our local governments provide the greatest amount of time and financial resources for the planning of this event, much of the success has been due to the generosity and contributions from civic groups, citizens, and other local organizations.  The future of this event is very dependent upon the continued support from donations. Organizers will also have donation boxes available at the event.
