Christmas Tree Lighting

Join us as we kick off the holiday season with our annual Christmas Tree Lighting event at the Creedmoor Community Center! This annual tradition promises an evening of joy and festive cheer for the entire community.

Event Highlights:

• Special Visit from Santa Claus: Santa himself will be making an appearance all the way from the North Pole!
• Hot Chocolate : Provided by Creedmoor Parks and Recreation, indulge in delicious treats to warm your spirits.
• Local Student Choir Performances: Enjoy beautiful holiday music performed by the talented South Granville High School Chorus.
• Guest Appearances: Meet and greet with the Mayor and City Council members.
• Free Event: This holiday celebration is open to all residents of Creedmoor and beyond.

Location: Creedmoor Community Center, 116 Douglas Drive.
Parking: Public parking available at 108 East Wilton Avenue.

After the festivities, extend the joy of the evening with dinner at one of Creedmoor's charming restaurants or explore Main Street for some Christmas shopping.

Christmas Parade

Information for Participants

Applications for the 2024 Creedmoor Christmas Parade are now available! The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 22, 2024. 

All interested participants should submit their application and $20 donation by mail or email to:

Applications are available HERE, on the City of Creedmoor website and paper copies are available at Creedmoor City Hall.   Applications will only be considered when we have received the completed application and entry fee.

Donations can also be made online by clicking HERE.

All proceeds benefit the Creedmoor Police Department’s Shop with a Cop Program.

Accepted Entrants

Accepted entrants will be notified via the email address provided on the application by November 29, 2024 along with additional parade line-up information, and other pertinent details for the event.

The Creedmoor Christmas Parade is a fun-filled event for both participants and spectators.  Parade instructions and rules are designed to remind participants that sometimes even the most innocent actions can provoke significant problems in a crowded area.  The rules are in place to ensure that we have an orderly, safe and joyful parade.  Please communicate these rules to all members of your parade entry.

Check-In

Day of event check-in is required.  Check-in begins at 9:30 AM and closes promptly at 10:30 AM at the intersection of Main Street and E. Church Street.  Only one representative from your group is required to check-in.  All vehicles participating in the parade must be in the staging area by 10:30 AM and a driver must remain with the vehicle at all times.

Parade Line-Up

All participants must be on site, checked-in and lined-up at 10:30 AM.  Each group will line-up by position determined by parade officials.  Line-up positions will be emailed and posted online prior to the day of the parade. 

The parade route will begin at the intersection of Main Street and East Church Street, and continue North on Main Street.  The parade will end at the intersection of Main Street and Lake Road.  Parade participants are not permitted to at this intersection.

Group entries should plan to meet at South Granville High School parking lot for loading/unloading purposes.
